Our Story

Historic-old-photo-MATT.jpg
Our story began in 1961 with a bold vision: to create Barbados' first local brewery.

What started as Banks Beer-born from Bajan entrepreneurial spirit and community investment-has grown into the island's premier beverage conglomerate.

Over six decades, we've woven ourselves into the fabric of Barbadian life. In 1991, Banks Holdings Limited was formally established when we acquired Barbados Bottling Company, expanding our reach beyond brewing. The addition of Pine Hill Dairy in 1997 deepened our commitment to nourishing our community with quality products across every beverage category.

Today, BHL represents over 140 years of combined manufacturing excellence through our family of companies: Banks (Barbados) Breweries, Barbados Dairy Industries, and Banks Distribution. We're not just Barbados' largest beverage company-we're stewards of brands that have celebrated life's moments with generations of Barbadians and Caribbean neighbors.

We continue to innovate while honoring our roots, building a sustainable future with more cheers for all.
