The History:
Bold Moves, Bigger Vision
1991 - THE FOUNDATION
Under visionary leader Sir Allan Fields, Banks (Barbados) Breweries Ltd. made a power move: acquiring the Barbados Bottling Co. Ltd. (BBC). Banks Holdings Limited was born. The synergy was undeniable—BBC's 46 years of soft drink mastery met the Brewery's 30-year brewing legacy. Quality, innovation, distribution strength-the platform was set for domination.
1994 - DISTRIBUTION DOMINANCE
BHL acquired a distribution facility from Barbados Shipping and Trading Limited (BS&T), launching Banks Distribution Limited. Now we controlled the entire value chain-from production to your hands
1997 - THE DAIRY REVOLUTION
BHL purchased government-owned Barbados Dairy Industries Ltd., adding dairy and juice to the portfolio. The move cemented our position: Barbados' undisputed beverage conglomerate.
1998 – RETAIL EXPANSION
Drinks Plus opened, complementing B&B Distribution. Six years later, a strategic restructuring integrated operations into Banks Distribution Limited for maximum efficiency.
2002 - STRATEGIC DIVERSIFICATION
BHL expanded beyond beverages into real estate and regional beverage partnerships, building a Caribbean network.

The Modern Era
2011
State-of-the-art brewery opens in Newton. New home, next-level production.
2016
Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABInBev) acquires BHL, bringing global resources and expertise.
2017
CEO Richard Cozier retires after 43 years of legendary service.
2018
Barbados Bottling Company (BBC) sold to KOSCAB (Coca-Cola Southern Caribbean).
2019
Joint venture formed: Delivery & Handling Services Ltd. with KOSCAB. Distribution redefined.
2021
Shafia London appointed as first female Country Manager. New chapter, bold leadership.
2025
KOSCAB Holdings Ltd has acquired a majority interest in SLU Beverages Ltd., which includes Banks Holdings Limited (BHL) in Barbados and the Saint Vincent Brewery Limited (SVBL) in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
