Better World Volunteers Beautify School

June 18, 2018

The staff and students of the Vauxhall Primary School now have a revitalized environment, thanks to the volunteers of Banks Holdings Limited (BHL). Thirty-eight employee volunteers painted classroom floors, benches and refreshed the school’s kitchen garden. The volunteers also plan to return to the school later in the year, to continue their beautification work at the institution.

“The BHL Group has been working with the Vauxhall Primary School through our school adoption programme for the past three years,” said Legal & Corporate Affairs Manager, Sophia Cambridge. “The school, teachers and students are a valued part of our community and we are extremely happy to be able to assist with their continued growth and development.”

Country Manager, Jose Infante, also praised the volunteer programme, which aligns with the work done by BHL’s parent company, AB InBev, in other countries. “BHL is committed to our community and will continue to support projects which can have a lasting impact on the lives of those who we help. We are also encouraging our employees to participate in more volunteer work in their communities and hope that other companies will do the same.”

The event at the Vauxhall Primary School was the first in a series of planned volunteer projects for the BHL Group in 2018. The projects, which will focus on community improvement and environmental conservation, were designed after consultation with various stakeholders and BHL employees. Activities will include beach clean-ups, outreach events for disaster relief victims, the donation of bins to various charities as well as beautification projects at churches and schools.
